Customized Safety Courses:
Fall Protection ½ Day
Any worker who is exposed to fall hazards is required to receive formal instruction in fall prevention/protection to comply with the training requirements of the OSHA Fall Protection Standard (29 CFR 1926 – Subpart M).
Course Topics Include: work area fall hazards; use, operation, and limitations of fall protection systems; erecting, maintaining, disassembling, and inspecting fall protection systems; and requirements of the OSHA Fall Protection Standard.
KTA can also customize this course to an employer’s specific requirements.
This includes adding topics related to fall protection, such as use of aerial lifts and scaffolds.
Confined Space Entrant, Attendant, & Supervisor 1 Day
This course provides confined space training for personnel who will act as entrants, attendants, and supervisors in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.146 (g). Course Topics Include: identification of confined spaces; hazards of confined spaces; entry programs; preparation procedures; atmospheric monitoring; and emergency procedures.
Respiratory Protection ½ day
The OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard requires training for any worker who uses respiratory protection. OSHA requires that workers who use respiratory protection be trained prior to using respiratory protection and annually thereafter.
Course Topics Include: capabilities and limitations of respiratory protection; how to inspect, put on and remove, use, and check the seals of the respirator; how to recognize medical signs and symptoms that may limit or prevent the effective use of a respirator; and requirements of the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
Worker Exposure: Lead and Other Toxic Metals in Coatings ½ Day
Any worker who is involved in construction and demolition activities that may disturb lead-containing paint resulting in an airborne exposure above the Action Level is required to receive initial training and annual training in order to comply with the OSHA Lead Exposure in Construction Standard 29 CFR 1926.62. This training course is based on training topics required by the OSHA Interim Final Rule on Lead Exposure in Construction, but it is tailored to meet site-specific issues as required by OSHA.
Course Topics Include: engineering and work practice controls; work activities which could result in exposure to lead; chelating agents; respirators; medical surveillance; other metals in paint which may be toxic; and health effects associated with exposure to lead.
